LUCCA
  • Lucca the beautiful, noble and elegant

It is truly one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany, with the splendid wall circle that surrounds the old city, and limits the almost completely pedestrian area. In Lucca it seems that everyone is always on vacation, the numerous restaurants with outdoor tables, the narrow streets that reserve surprises around the corner make the city truly special, to be enjoyed at a walking pace.

Not least are the monuments and works of art that make the visit a truly pleasant and rewarding experience. The Cathedral, Piazza S. Michele, Piazza Anfiteatro, Puccini's birthplace are just some of the stages involved in the guided tour.

Inside the cathedral, at a cost of € 3 per person, there are masterpieces such as the Volto Santo (Holy Face) and the monument to Ilaria del Carretto.

  • Guided tour

The city tour of Lucca includes:

    - The walls

    - Piazza Napoleone

    - Cathedral (outside)

    - Piazza S. Michele

    - Giacomo Puccini's birthplace

    - Via Fillungo

    - Church of S. Frediano

    - Piazza Anfiteatro

Optional, but highly recommended, is a visit to the inside of the Cathedral, at a cost of € 3 per person, in which masterpieces such as the (Volto Santo) Holy Face and the monument to Ilaria del Carretto are preserved.

The visit of the Church of S. Frediano is also subject to a fee, at a cost of € 3 per person and I gladly accompany the groups interested in this visit.

From January 1 2022 there is again the check point to pay in Lucca!

For details and prices click here

The price of a guided tour of max. 3 hours is € 140 for up to 30 people + € 2 for each person over 30.

  • My suggestions

The half-day tour of Lucca can be completed with:

    - visit to the Piazza dei Miracoli (Cathedral Square) in Pisa

    - visit of Puccini's Villa in Torre del Lago.

    - visit of Villa Torrigiani

    - visit of Villa Reale

PISTOIA
  • Pistoia: a city with a slow pace and on a human scale

Pistoia surprises visitors who find a city that is still genuine, where tourism has not changed the rhythms and habits of a Tuscan city, with the days marked by a slow pace.

The works of art and architecture preserved in Pistoia are of highes level and the interested visitor will not fail to be surprised and happy to have known a new Tuscan city.

  • Guided tour

    The tour includes:

    • Church of S. Giovanni Fuorcivitas (outside) (inside at a cost of € 2,5 per person). Cumulative ticket with Church of S. Andrea 4 €.
    • Piazza della Sala
    • Piazza Duomo
    • Town Hall
    • Atrium of the Praetorian Palace
    • Cathedral inside and outside if there are no masses
    • Baptistery inside and outside - free entrance
    • Frieze of the Ospedale del Ceppo
    • Church of S. Andrea (inside at a cost of 2,5 € per person) - cumulative ticket with Church of S. Giovanni Fuorcivitas 4 €.

In addition, it is possible to book a free visit to the Pastry Corsini which produces the confetti of Pistoia.

Furthermore, it is possible to integrate the guided tour with the entrance to the Chapel of S. James to closely observe a masterpiece of medieval goldsmithing: the Silver Altar. Cost € 2.5 special price for my groups.

The pulpit by Giovanni Pisano preserved in the church of S. Andrea can also be visited at a cost of € 2 per person.

The guided tour of Pistoia costs 140 € up to 30 pax + 2 Euro for each person over 30.

In Pistoia there is no Chek Point to pay.

  • My suggestions

For groups who are interested (minimum 15 people) and who book a guided tour of the city with me, they can have a special admission price of € 5 to Pistoia Underground, a very interesting underground route to visit in case a group stops in Pistoia for an entire day.

The half day visit of Pistoia can be completed with the following proposals:

    • Visit of the Pistoia Zoo
    • Visit of Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo
    • Visit of the Medici Villa of Poggio a Caiano
    • Visit of Montecatini Terme

PISA
  • Pisa, where everyone is amazed .....

To get to know Tuscany well, one cannot fail to have seen the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa, not surprisingly also called Miracles Square.

Even today, entering the square we are dazzled and amazed by so much beauty and knowing its history and main works of art is truly an enriching experience.

  • Guided tour

    The guided tour includes:

    • Cathedral inside and outside (earphones are required for inside the cathedral)
    • Baptistery inside and outside
    • Monumental Cemetery
    • Tower of Pisa outside only

The guided tour does not include the ascent to the Tower.

To visit the aforementioned monuments, with the exception of the ascent to the Tower, you have to pay a ticket of € 10 per person.

The guided tour of the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa costs 140 € up to 30 pax + 2 Euro for each person over 30.

In Pisa the payment of the check point is required.

For details, consult the municipality's website www.pisamo.it directly.

  • My suggestions

Pisa is one of the destinations that is usually visited in half a day. However, the Piazza dei Miracoli is only about 20 minutes walk from the city center.

The city center is also really interesting and worth a visit.

Otherwise a guided tour of Pisa can be combined with:

    • a visit to the park of S. Rossore by carriage
    • a guided tour of Lucca
    • visit of Puccini's Villa in Torre del Lago.
    • visit of Villa Torrigiani in Camigliano
    • visit of the Royal Villa of Marlia

FLORENCE
  • Florence, the great Lady

The city does not need many words and many descriptions. Its beauty and charm are captured by any visitor. Knowing its history and above all the ideas that have led Florence to be the city we all know, one can only be truly amazed by so much wonder.

This is what I try to convey with my guided tours.

  • Guided tour

If the group leaves from Montecatini Terme, I am also happy to get on the bus to Montecatini.

Otherwise as meeting point I recommend the parking of Villa Costanza, which can be easily reached from the A1 motorway. The bus can remain parked here for the entire time of the visit of Florence by paying € 50 per day.

The group with me takes the tramway with which we reach the city center in 20 minutes, near the S. Maria Novella train station. The cost of the ticket is € 1.5 + € 1.5 round trip. Tickets can be conveniently purchased at the bar in the parking lot of Villa Costanza.

This solution is much easier and convenient than paying at the Florence check point.

The half day guided tour includes:

    • the church of S. Maria Novella (outside)
    • the cathedral (outside)
    • the bell tower (outside)
    • baptistery (outside)
    • Piazza della Repubblica
    • Piazza della Signoria
    • Uffizi (outside)
    • Ponte Vecchio

Guided tour of Florence costs € 160 up to 30 pax + € 2 for each pax over 30.

  • My suggestions

The half-day visit of Florence can be completed with the following proposals in the area:

    • visit of the Uffizi Gallery
    • half day free time in Florence
    • Visit of Villa della Petraia
    • Visit of Montecatini Terme (if the group stays in Montecatini and return to the hotel for lunch)

UFFIZI MUSEUM
  • The great masterpieces

The Uffizi is one of the most visited museums in Italy, with over 2 million visitors every year. Some of the most famous Renaissance masterpieces are preserved there.

The guided tour allows you to fully enjoy the works on display, with the important and necessary information to deeply appreciate them.

You will be guided by my enthusiasm and my knowledge to experience a guided tour with your eyes and your mind.

  • How to buy tickets

    Entrance rates are:

    www.uffizi.it/biglietti

Groups must book tickets, at a cost of € 4 for booking which can be done online.

Guided tour of the Uffizi Museum costs € 160 up to 30 pax + € 2 for each pax over 30.

  • My suggestions

The visit of the Uffizi Gallery can well complement the half-day guided tour of the city of Florence.

PRATO
  • Amazing Prato

The city has been renowned since the Middle Ages for the production of wool fabrics which played an important role in economic and social development.

Prato, on the other hand, is little known as a tourist destination, yet it preserves truly surprising treasures in the city center.

Impossible not to stop in the Cathedral of Prato, where you can admire the very delicate face of the dancing Salome in the cycle of frescoes by Filippo Lippi, one of the highest expressions of the Italian Renaissance, and the frescoes by Paolo Uccello and Agnolo Gaddi, with an external pulpit made none other than Donatello's.

Also very interesting is the House of Francesco Datini, a very rich merchant of the 1300s who left us an archive of very interesting letters and documents from his company, studied by various universities around the world and who revealed the important commercial dynamics of a thriving business in the Middle Ages.

  • Guided tour

    The tour includes:

    • Castle of the Emperor Frederick II of Swabia
    • Church of S. Maria delle Carceri
    • Cathedral with the Chapel of the Holy Belt
    • (ticket of € 6 per person *; This ticket will also allow us to visit the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo where the original pulpit by Donatello is preserved)
    • Town Hall
    • House of Francesco Datini

The price of a guided tour of max. 3 hours is € 140 for up to 30 people + € 2 for each person over 30.

VINCI
  • Vinci Leonardo's birthplace

Lying on the slopes of Montalbano, a few kilometers from Montecatini, this delightful village was the birthplace of the great Leonardo.

Our visit develops in three steps.

In Anchiano we will visit Leonardo's birthplace, a simple stone house surrounded by an olive grove, with a breathtaking view.

Then we will continue further to the historic Villa del Ferrale, halfway between Vinci and Anchiano, where high-resolution and life-size reproductions of all the paintings and some drawings by Leonardo are displayed, that give us the extraordinary impression of being face to face with the masterpieces of the Genius gathered in a single exhibition.

Finally we will visit the Leonardo Museum in Vinci, where models made on projects of the great Genius are exhibited. I will tell you about his troubled public and private life to get us closer to understanding something more of him.

  • Guided tour

Reduced admission ticket for groups to the Birthplace, the Villa del Ferrale and the Leonardiano Museum € 8 per person.

MONTECATINI TERME
  • Montecatini, the queen of Art Nouveau

Many groups that come to Tuscany to visit the cities of art stay overnight in Montecatini Terme, without knowing that this town is really worth a visit.

Renovated in the early 1900s, it preserves splendid spas which are one of the most important Art Nouveau buildings in Italy.

  • Guided tour

The visit begins from Piazza del Popolo, the heart of the city and winds along Viale Verdi, the most important street of the city overlooked by the most beautiful hotels and the most important spas. The visit is completed by the entrance to the Terme Tettuccio, the highest expression both stylistic and monumental of the town, which includes an entrance ticket of € 6 per person.

If there is time left, we can continue with an excursion to Montecatini Alto which can be reached either by bus or by using the historic funicular. In this case, the ticket costs € 6 per person for groups over 20 people.

Guided tour of Montecatini Terme costs € 140 up to 30 pax + € 2 for each pax over 30.
